Îïèñàíèå: The M7 Priest was an American self-propelled gun officially designated as the 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriage M7. 4,315 were built between April 1942 and July 1945. At 7.30am on 6th June 1944, an LCT containing four M7 Priests, an M3 half-track and a Jeep, all from the 58th Armoured Field Artillery Battalion, was hit by enemy fire as it headed for Omaha Beach. It immediately capsized and sank in deep water, three miles off Port-en-Bessin. The M7s were discovered on the seabed in the 1960’s and this example was one of three that were recovered in 1982.
