HD Soviet October Revolution Parade, 1984 Парад 7 Ноября

This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 67th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, 7 November 1984. This broadcast is perhaps the most well known of the Soviet era parades. Not only is it the famous year from George Orwell's novel of the same name, but it's the last parade where the "old guard" was in full leadership before Gorbachev. Taking the salute is First Minister of Defense, Marshal of the Soviet Union Sergei Sokolov (He passed away in 2012 at the age of 101. He was the oldest living Soviet Marshal). Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, General of the Army Petr Lushev. (Marshal Ustinov was unable to attend the parade due to illness. He would later pass away on 20 December 1984.) Like me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RedSamurai84/
