Dimash performing famous song "SOS d'un terrien en d'etresse (A Soul's Plea for Help)" on a Chinese rebranded version (2017) of a famous Korean show "I Am a Singer ( ). 2017.01.21 Originally called "I Am a singer ()" the show was renamed due to the banning of Korean-related branding and artists. "SOS d'un terrien en d'etresse" is a song composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for their famous French/Qu'eb'ecois rock opera "Starmania" that first premiered in Paris, 1979. In 1978, its first recording was released, sub-titled Starmania, ou la passion de Johnny Rockfort selon les 'evangiles t'el'evis'es ("Starmania, or the Passion of Johnny Rockfort According to the Televised Gospels") with the leading roles filled by Daniel Balavoine, Claude Dubois, Diane Dufresne, Nanette Workman, France Gall, Eric Esteve and Fabienne Thibeault. In 1979 the show was given its theatrical debut in Paris, starring Balavoine, 'Etienne Chicot, Dufresne, Gall, and Thibeault, followed by Canadian productions in 1980 and 1986 and French revivals in 1988 and throughout the 1990s. The 1980 Canadian production had a cast that included France Castel, Louise Forestier, Gilles Valiquette, and Martine St-Clair. Later in 1992, an English version of the show was created with the release of the album Tycoon, with lyrics by Tim Rice, and starring Kim Carnes, Celine Dion, Nina Hagen, Peter Kingsbery, Cyndi Lauper, Willy Deville, and Tom Jones in the principal roles on the recording. The song was first performed by a famous French artist Daniel Balavoine, also known as Bala and "french chayanne" and became a hit. The song covered by many artists like Norman Groulx , Renaud Hantson, Bruno Pelletier , Gr'egory Lemarchal , Daniel Popovic, Laurent B`an, but one of the most memorable and famous perfomance of the cover was done by a French singer Gr'egory Lemarchal a winner of the fourth series of the reality TV programme Star Academy France. He rose to fame thanks to his angelic voice and won the hearts of millions by his music, his bright personality and pure heart, an angel. Daniel Balavoine was one of his idols as he was an inspiration for many artists and people in general, being one of the biggest names in France in his times and the Memory, the Legacy and Love for both of them is as strong as ever today. Gr'egory's performance of the song played a big role for Dimash in his preparation for this performance.
