Îïèñàíèå: French WW2 era armoured car Official designation: - Automitrailleuse de D'ecouverte Panhard mod`ele 1935 Designed for reconnaissance, the Panhard 178 was initially produced from February 1937 until October 1940. Captured by Axis forces, they remained in Italian use in September 1943 and German use until the end of the war. Post-war production of the improved 178B began reached 414 vehicles, some of which remained in service in Syria until 1964. One of only two survivors, this example uses parts from several vehicles, including examples from Djibouti, Meucon, Coetquidan and Ch^ateau de Guise. The hull is from a post-war 178B, although it has been given a running number which is reported to be from the third pre-war production batch. It is on display in the “France 1940” hall.
