Îïèñàíèå: c/n 12251 Built in 1943 and delivered to the USAAF on 10th January 1944 with the serial 42-92449. Operating with the 442nd Troop Carrier Group of the Ninth Air Force, it flew paratroopers of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, to jump over Sainte-M`ere-'Eglise on D-Day. In 1948 it was sold to Aigle-Azur and was civil registered as F-BEFB, spending at least some time in the Far East. Purchased by the French Air Force in May 1960, it served as ‘92449’ until donated to the National Collection during 1970. Despite having a relevant and interesting history of its own, in 2004 it was painted to represent 42-100558 “Buzz Buggy” of the 81st Troop Carrier Squadron, part of the 436th Troop Carrier Group. It is on display in the Second World War Hall (Hall 5) at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
