ôîòî: Remains of Canberra TT.18 ‘R’ [WK124 / C-R]

Îïèñàíèå: c/n unknown Built in 1954 as a Canberra B.2 for the Royal Air Force with the serial WK124. Served with 59, 103 and 213 Squadrons before undergoing conversion to a TT.18 target tug during 1969. Transferred to the Royal Navy, she flew with the Fleet Requirements Unit at Yeovilton before returning to the RAF and joining 7 Squadron here at RAF St Mawgan. She later moved to 100 Squadron at Wyton where she was coded ‘C-R’ until being retired in March 1991. She was then allocated the maintenance serial 9093M and became part of the Fire School at Manston. Broken up when the school closed, the nose was saved by a private owner whilst the remains of the airframe were moved to Newquay where they are dumped behind the Hardened Aircraft Shelter used by the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.
